Operating Room Classes

Operating rooms are classified into Class I, II, III, and IV according to bacterial concentration and air cleanliness. Class I (Class 100) has the highest requirements (0.2 CFU/disc in the surgical area) and is suitable for high-risk surgeries such as organ transplantation; Class IV (Class 100,000) has the lowest requirements and is suitable for surgeries involving infection.

Cleanroom Classes

These refer to auxiliary rooms surrounding the operating room (such as clean corridors and sterile storage rooms). Their standards are slightly lower than those of the core surgical area. For example, the air cleanliness level around a Class I operating room is typically Class 6, and the permissible bacterial concentration is correspondingly more lenient.

Cleanroom Engineering Core

This utilizes three-stage filtration and directional airflow to remove dust and microorganisms, and is classified into four classes based on air cleanliness: Class 100, Class 1000, Class 10,000, and Class 100,000. It includes multiple professional systems such as air conditioning, building decoration, and medical gases, aiming to reduce the risk of surgical infection and ensure patient safety.
