Product Details
Barium sulfate sand, also known as radiation-proof coating or protective coating, mainly exists in nature as barite. Barium sulfate has a hardness of 3-3.5 (Mohs scale) and a specific gravity of 3.8-4.3, characterized by its high specific gravity, low hardness, and brittleness. Barium sulfate is chemically stable, insoluble in water, and non-magnetic and non-toxic. Barium sulfate sand and protective coatings are composed of various elements in specific proportions of granules and powders. When mixed with cement in a certain ratio, it can be used to plaster walls. Whether it's 325-mesh barium sulfate powder, 800-mesh fine barium sulfate sand, or coarser granules, the barium content is as high as 99%, and large quantities are readily available.
Product Specifications: 325 mesh/800 mesh/1250 mesh/3000 mesh (custom sizes available upon request)
Product Features: Good stability, acid and alkali resistance, high density, moderate hardness, high specific gravity, high whiteness, ability to absorb harmful radiation (X-rays and gamma rays), vitreous luster, non-magnetic and non-toxic.
Product Applications: Ceiling and wall casting for radiation protection in radiotherapy rooms, CT scan rooms, X-ray rooms, and industrial flaw detection rooms. It is a low-cost, easy-to-construct, and inexpensive radiation shielding material.
